ACTIVITY OVERVIEW

Computational thinkers often have to try a few ideas before they find one that solves their problem. Sometimes, they find a new way of solving a problem while they are testing a different idea. In this activity, you will build a bridge.

INSTRUCTIONS

First, ask your parents or an adult for a roll of pennies. Then, look at the pennies. How could you build a bridge of pennies between two piles of pennies? Draw some different designs for the bridge. Once you have your designs drawn, try to build the bridge! As you build, don’t be afraid to try new designs or make changes to your ideas. This might happen if your idea isn’t working or if you have a different idea while building.
